Wo sollen wir beginnen…?! Was für eine Reise – und was für eine Freude, diese inspirierende Verwandlung von einem schlichten Wohnhaus zu einer prachtvollen Residenz im venezianischen Sestiere Dorsoduro zu begleiten.

Als Immobilienexperten mit über 25 Jahren Erfahrung glauben wir oft, bereits alles gesehen zu haben – bis wir auf eine Immobilie treffen, die uns schlichtweg den Atem raubt.

Das frisch restaurierte venezianische Zuhause des Mailänder Philanthropen Paolo und seiner Familie (enge Freunde von Filippo, Gründer und Eigentümer von DI / VOV) wurde kürzlich mit großem Erfolg auf seiner eigenen Instagram-Seite für die Kurzzeitvermietung vorgestellt. Die maßgeschneiderte Dimora Orlando ist ein wahres Herzensprojekt, mit makelloser Sorgfalt von ihren Eigentümern kuratiert. Sie gipfelt in einer außergewöhnlichen Stadtresidenz, in der Familie und Freunde – und nun auch Sie! – in unvergleichlicher Umgebung zusammenkommen, um die pure Freude des Beisammenseins in Venedig zu feiern.

Eine seltene venezianische Residenz, für die der Begriff „Schatztruhe“ wie geschaffen scheint. Das eklektische Interieur ist der Traum eines anspruchsvollen Maximalisten.

Nur wenige Schritte von der eleganten Promenade der Zattere, der Peggy Guggenheim Collection, den ikonischen Kuppeln von Santa Maria della Salute und dem ehemaligen Wohnhaus des legendären Designers Hubert de Givenchy entfernt – in einer der prestigeträchtigsten und kultiviertesten Gegenden von Dorsoduro und ganz Venedig – wurde diese atemberaubende Residenz während ihrer umfassenden (und beruhigend kostspieligen!) Restaurierung von einem hochqualifizierten Team von Kunsthandwerkern sowie den Architekturexperten von ArchFlorence betreut.

Mit 5 verführerischen Doppelzimmern mit en suite Badezimmern, verteilt auf beeindruckende 470 m² Wohnfläche über 3 luxuriöse Etagen, sowie einem hübschen Innenhofgarten auf der Rückseite, ist die vollständig klimatisierte Dimora mit einem internen Aufzug ausgestattet, der alle Etagen verbindet – eine Seltenheit in Venedig.

Erdgeschoss
Eine private Eingangstür mit Schlüssel und digitalem Zahlencode führt in eine elegante Eingangshalle mit Treppe oder Aufzug in das oberste (2.) Stockwerk, wo sich die Hauptwohnbereiche befinden und unsere Besichtigung beginnt.

2. Obergeschoss
Ein außergewöhnlicher doppelter Salon, dessen tief seegrüne, polierte Marmorino-Wände an die bewegten Gewässer großer Seereisen erinnern, während die weiß gekalkten Gewölbebalken darüber eine dramatische Kulisse für erlesene Möbelstücke und Kunstobjekte bilden.
Originalgemälde des renommierten englischen Künstlers Billy Childish* schmücken die Wände. Luxuriöse, handgewebte Stoffe von Fortuny und Rubelli sowie edelste Samtsofas umgeben einen Glas- und Plexiglas-Couchtisch, der ein fossiles Baumstück aus der Trias (vor 252–201 Millionen Jahren) schützt.

Thronartige Stühle aus russischer Kiefer von Mario Ceroli (Serie „Mobili Nella Valle“, Poltronova, Florenz 1977) stehen am Ende des Raumes gegenüber „Cavalli“, einem Relief aus Balsaholz und russischer Kiefer, ebenfalls von Ceroli. Ein monumentaler, geschnitzter Kamin mit einem handgefertigten runden Glas-Emaille-Spiegel von OOM bildet den magischen Mittelpunkt, gekrönt von einer eindrucksvollen Wandmontage eines Großen Kudus.

Eine hervorragend ausgestattete Hauptküche mit sichtbaren Balken, grünen Fronten, Granitarbeitsplatte, verspiegeltem Spritzschutz und ikonischen Fornasetti-Porzellantellern. Als Hommage an die traditionellen venezianischen Bacari hängen antike Kupfer-Wasserkrüge dekorativ von der Decke.
Ein triumphales Esszimmer in warmem „Uluru“-Terrakotta mit ovalem Tisch für 12 Gäste unter einem funkelnden Murano-Kronleuchter, flankiert von bedeutenden Kunstwerken.
Die sinnliche Master-Suite in sandigen Wüstentönen verfügt über ein Doppelbett, einen Kleiderschrank mit Gitterelementen, zwei „Emmanuelle“-Pfauen-Rattansessel von KOK Maison und ein luxuriöses Badezimmer en suite aus honigfarbenem Onyx mit freistehender Devon&Devon-Badewanne und separater Dusche.

Ein atmosphärischer Raum mit Sichtziegelwänden, dekoriert mit japanischen Gyotaku-Fischdrucken. Der klimatisierte Glas-Weinkeller mit maßgefertigten Holzarbeiten von Falegnameria Matulli und einer kupfergedeckten Mittelinsel schafft den perfekten Rahmen für stilvolle Weinproben.

Für Ankünfte zwischen 20:00 Uhr und Mitternacht wird ein Zuschlag von 50 € berechnet (bar bei Ankunft zu zahlen).
Zwischen Mitternacht und 1:00 Uhr beträgt der Zuschlag 100 €.
Nach 1:00 Uhr behalten wir uns das Recht vor, die Anreise mit entsprechendem Aufpreis zu akzeptieren.

Die Betten werden wie auf den Fotos vorbereitet. Änderungen (Doppel- oder Einzelbetten) müssen mindestens 7 Tage vor Anreise angefragt werden.

Named in honour of the aristocratic and enigmatic ‘Lady J’ who, once upon a time long ago, came to Venice, fell in love and left a piece of her heart here forever, and who can sometimes still be spotted, if only by those with a keen eye, silently retracing her steps along the tranquil backwaters she knows so well, this newly restored 3-floor townhouse gazes out from a façade that only whispers ‘sotto voce’ of the sheer opulence within.

Fruit of the limitless artistic talents of our design partners at ArchFlorence, expertly honed into superb shape over a 3-year period, and replete with high-end touches, rich colours and fine textiles, our carefully chosen team of artisans and stylists have totally exceeded our brief in bringing you a property that delivers (and some!) pure Venice holiday pleasure.

Overlooking the genteel Salizada San Samuele with its collection of chic little galleries – a silver seam of near silence and solitude running parallel with the busier beaten path, and a much lesser-known route helping link the Accademia Bridge with the Rialto – and within moments of the Palazzo Grassi Museum of Modern Art, the sunny outdoor cafes of Campo Santo Stefano (people-watching heaven!) not forgetting the take-your-breath-away wonderful attractions of St. Mark’s Square just a short stroll further on, La Dimora di Lady J offers Wi-Fi and air-conditioning throughout its hugely covetable accommodation comprising:

Your very own private front door leading into the entrance hallway (more of which later!) with stairs* rising to the 2nd floor (the top of the house) where we find the majority of the living and sleeping accommodation spread across one level:

2nd Floor, where we enter...

A bright and elegant sitting / TV room where Venetian terrazzo flooring, a beamed ceiling and marmorino walls serve as a characterful backdrop to the large ochre-velvet sofa, raspberry-red seating and an exquisite wall-size panelled mirror lit softly by a gorgeous pair of golden shell-shaped silk lamps. Abundant light streams into the room from the pair of floor-to-ceiling glazed French doors opening onto a wrought-iron Juliet balcony overlooking the salizada below and which combined serve as an enormous picture frame for the pretty serliana windows adorning the palazzetto opposite

Overlooking the peaceful rear of the dimora and dressed in similarly delightful fashion, a warm and welcoming semi-separate dining space where, lit by a rather splendid rectangular pleated-silk ceiling lamp, a photographic portrait of a distinguished gentleman in period attire with ruff (who some of you might recognise!) holds court at the head of the large oval glass-topped dining table

Just to the side of the open dining area sits...

La Dimora di Lady J’s well-equipped kitchen / breakfast room showcasing wooden parquet flooring, bespoke cabinetry with integrated wine cooler, streamlined units with SMEG and Siemens appliances, and a breakfast area with upholstered L-shaped banquette seating and breakfast table lit by a traditional garnet-red Murano glass chandelier suspended from the timbers above... not forgetting the pair of photographic portraits of the ‘Contessas of the House’ in their period finery casually observing the comings and goings of their 21st-century house guests!

Returning to the sitting room at the front of the house, on one side we discover...

A sweet and very darling beamed 1st double bedroom with double bed and inbuilt wardrobe, gorgeous Little Greene ‘Bird and Bluebell’ wallpaper (a design created from fragments of wallpaper found in the 17th-century Felbrigg Hall in Norfolk – a little slice of Old England in Venice!) and a space where the plush fabrics in a striking colour combination illustrate, to utterly charming effect, that ‘blue and green should ALWAYS be seen!’ The pristine en suite bathroom has a shower and is beautifully presented in matching green with marble fittings

To the opposite side of the sitting room, we come to...

The beamed 2nd double bedroom exquisitely attired in playful botanical wallpaper and fabric and with its own private entrance vestibule, a pair of inbuilt wardrobes and a total of 5 windows overlooking the salizada. Twin beds (which can be made into a double at your request) are beautifully upholstered in cerulean blue and vivid tangerine, while a series of framed ornithological prints grace one of its walls and the sparkling en suite bathroom with shower is a picture in green marble

To the rear of the apartment, we find...

The calm, restful and very grown-up principal double bedroom in elegant duck-egg blue and burnt orange with wooden parquet floor, bespoke cabinetry, a pair of concealed wardrobes with mirrors to the rear of the double bed, and a rather stately en suite bathroom in cool grey with twin wash basins and shower in gorgeous russet-red marble, and a luxurious bathtub for some relaxing ‘me time’ prior to your next social event

And to the centre of this floor...

Enjoying a side view over the peaceful Salizada Malipiero, the apartment’s adorable beamed 4th double bedroom, masterfully presented in tranquil shades of teal blue and silvery sage with opulently upholstered double bed (which can be made into twins at your request), a mirrored wardrobe adding additional light and a sense of space to the room, a series of framed botanical prints and a splendid en suite bathroom in matching colours with shower and hexagonal ceramic tiling

OUR COMMENT
An eminently superior San Marco townhouse – a place to call your very own – with oodles of space to hang out together in luxury and privacy.
Sharing its distinctly upmarket neighbourhood with some of the city’s most coveted residential addresses and palazzi and ideally placed for the first time or regular visitor to Venice who appreciates peaceful surroundings yet who’d like to stay close to many of Venice’s star attractions (including those at St. Mark’s Square just a short walk away!)

Within a stone’s throw of the Accademia Bridge crossing the Grand Canal over to the district of Dorsoduro and within moments of traditional bars and osterie, a wine shop, a local grocery/delicatessen and a very well-stocked Despar supermarket (and a cinema!) just a little further on.

Antique shops, small galleries and little boutiques are right on your doorstep including Palwer Jewellery, Artion Galleries, Atelier Elizabetta Zanutto, interior designer Chiarastella Cattana – a discreetly sophisticated showroom of fine and distinctively woven textiles and furnishings – and, for scent-lovers, the Venice outlet of the famous Florentine ‘Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella’ (one of the oldest pharmacies in the world and one time fragrance maker to Catherine de’ Medici).

Also close to two vaporetto (water bus) stops – San Samuele (Line 2) and Sant’ Angelo (Line 1) – for foot-friendly exploration of the city, and moments to the local traghetto at Garzoni which, during operating times, ferries passengers by gondola across the Grand Canal to San Toma in the district of San Polo.

For arrivals between 8.00 p.m. and midnight there is an additional cost for "late arrival" of Euro 50, to be paid in cash upon arrival. We organize arrivals between midnight and one o'clock with an additional cost of Euro 100, after this time we reserve the right to accept the customer always with a supplement to be quantified according to the time of arrival.

Beds will be arranged as either doubles or twins as shown in the photos. The possibility of turning a double bed into twins or vice versa can be found in the description and must be requested at least 7 days before arrival.
