Introducing the very special Ca’ Del Monastero - a fine antique residence comprising 9 superbly restored apartments of varying size (including Ca’ Del Monastero 6 - see its dedicated section below) situated in what was once the monastery connected to the ancient Church of San Zan Degolà (one of the oldest in Venice), moments from the Grand Canal in the district of Santa Croce.
Enjoying an atmosphere of calm serenity in what must surely be one of Venice’s most evocative and unspoilt neighbourhoods - indeed a step back in time - the Ca’ Del Monastero apartments offer spacious and beautifully presented accommodation for small and medium size parties or up to 38 guests if taken together.*
No expense has been spared in its recent remodelling…
Carefully co-ordinated contemporary furnishings and soft neutral colours meld seamlessly against a traditional backdrop of polished red marble and/or traditional Venetian terrazzo flooring, while stylish high-spec fittings and attractive finishes, such as textured resin walls and luxurious feature wall coverings, give a fresh and fashionable twist to the building’s ancient framework.
Enhanced by a range of up-to-date facilities as demanded by today’s savvy traveller (including air-conditioning**, Wi-Fi internet connection and communal utility facilities), the Ca’ Del Monastero apartments are perfectly placed for communing with the true and heart and soul of the city and for visiting all that Venice has to offer while providing all the comforts of modern city living.

Boasting pretty views towards the sleepy Church, Campo and Rio de San Degolà, the apartment sleeps 4 with ease on the 2nd floor reached by lift.
Immaculately dressed in keeping with its popular sister properties – do read their reviews! – accommodation comprises an elegant main sitting room with sparkling marble flooring, beautiful wooden beams hung with a pair of contemporary white glass chandeliers, comfy seating and two windows overlooking the square.
Just to the side sits the well-equipped and fully-fitted kitchen/dining room with seating for four, while next to it to the rear lies an up-to-date bathroom with shower.
On the opposite side of the apartment sit the two pristine bedrooms with a modern bathroom with bathtub in between – one an attractive beamed double with lavender grey feature wall and a French-size bed (akin to a small double bed), and a second beamed double decorated in a similar style to the sitting room with double bed and built-in wardrobe.

Within easy walking distance of Venice’s Santa Lucia Railway Station and Piazzale Roma if travelling light, and even closer to the vaporetto (waterbus) stops at Riva di Biasio and San Stae on the Grand Canal for hassle-free travel around the city.

Moments to Campo San Giacomo Dell’ Orio - one of Venice’s most charming ‘away from the crowds’ tree-filled squares and home to a well-stocked Coop supermarket and nearby local shops - and a short walk to a Conad supermarket on the Rio Marin canal.
Close to a great variety of cafes, bars and eateries including All’ Anfora, La Zucca, Il Refolo, Al Prosecco and Antica Besseta to name but a few, and within minutes of the Ca’ Pesaro International Gallery of Modern Art, Palazzo Mocenigo at San Stae (Museum of the History of Fabrics, Costumes and Perfumes) and the Fondazione Prada at Ca’ Corner Della Regina.

in the kitchen the chairs make an awful noise. you could put strong textile pieces (felt) beneath the legs of the chairs. Also, some doors were squeaky, but I put oil on the hinges.

Wonderful, newly refurbished, air conditioned flat on a quiet square. Two minutes walking to a supermarket, 13 minutes to Rialto Bridge, half an hour to Biennale- a perfect spot to explore Venice yet be able to rest away from tourist noise!

Un emplacement très calme et la proximité des vaporettos qui permettent d'être rapidement au coeur de Venise. L'appartement est meublé avec goût. Et rien ne manque du point de vue vaisselle, casseroles, et autres.
