Description
Three newly revamped apartments in a pretty, salmon-pink, antique palazzetto within the calm and cultured setting of upmarket San Samuele.
Elegantly attired in a classic, homely style and peacefully positioned within a genteel neighbourhood dotted with galleries and antique shops well clear of the hustle and bustle yet close to Campo Santo Stefano, these inviting apartments are of differing sizes and sleep up to 10 guests when taken together.
Just a few steps from the renowned Palazzo Grassi Museum of Modern Art in a parish that legendary lover Casanova called home, the palazzetto offers a stylish address to rest easy within a short and pleasant stroll of the many attractions of St. Mark’s Square.
Moments from the illustrious Palazzo Mocenigo on the Grand Canal (the one time Venetian bolthole of ‘mad, bad and dangerous to know’ British romantic poet and literary figure, Lord Byron) and boasting air-conditioning, Wi-Fi and a warm and welcoming ambience in each, the Ca’ Grassi apartments comprise:
Ca’ Grassi 1 (Sleeps 4 on the 2nd Floor reached by stairs – no lift)
Communal palazzetto entrance with stairs rising up to the apartment entrance
• Tranquil, light and airy and situated to the rear of the palazzetto – a spacious and tastefully furnished sitting/dining room freshly decked out in an attractive powder blue and with Venetian terrazzo flooring, tall windows, a pair of comfy sofas and a dining table for 4
• A compact yet well-equipped kitchen with fitted units and all the necessary appliances for self-catering
• Two quietly elegant double bedrooms, both with double beds: a spacious principal bedroom dressed in mint green Marmorino and the second more compact in ivory
And completing the accommodation:
• Two tiled and freshly refurbished bathrooms, one with bathtub and the other with large shower
* Are you part of a larger group who’d like to stay close to each other but in separate apartments? We offer 2 other apartments in this Venetian palazzetto (little palace): Ca’ Grassi 2 (on the 2nd Floor) and Ca’ Grassi 3 (on the 3rd Floor)
OUR COMMENT
A popular, newly refreshed and brilliantly placed residence for 4 situated right beside ‘Casa Veronese’ (once the home of the 16th-century Italian Renaissance painter, Paolo Veronese).
Within steps of the neighbourhood grocery store/delicatessen, a wine shop, a range of cafes/osterie (including those fringing the nearby Campo Santo Stefano), plus the gallery of interior designer Chiarastella Cattana - a discreetly sophisticated showroom of fine and distinctively woven textiles and furnishings – and, for scent-lovers, the Venice outlet of the famous Florentine ‘Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella’ (one of the oldest pharmacies in the world and one time fragrance maker to Catherine de’ Medici).
A stone’s throw to the Accademia Bridge crossing the Grand Canal over to Dorsoduro and conveniently close the vaporetto (water bus) stops at San Samuele and Sant' Angelo for easy travel around the city, and to the ‘traghetto’ gondola ferry which, during operating times, carries passengers across the Grand Canal between Calle Del Tragheto (near Sant’ Angelo) and San Toma in the district of San Polo.
For arrivals between 8.00 p.m. and midnight there is an additional cost for "late arrival" of Euro 50, to be paid in cash upon arrival. We organize arrivals between midnight and one o'clock with an additional cost of Euro 100, after this time we reserve the right to accept the customer always with a supplement to be quantified according to the time of arrival.

I can’t say enough good things about the service! Luca was fantastic with communication and stayed in touch and accessible entire time we were there. Would highly recommend getting private water taxi pick up on arrival. Location was a big off beaten path but plenty of space, comfortable beds and having AC was crucial! Lucca even went and brought a new Moka for coffee when we told him one in apt was broken. Good choice for Venice but be prepared to walk to everything! 10-15 minute to St marks square, 35 to Jewish Ghetto, 10 to Realto bridge.

Better explanation about check out instructions. 2 hot water knobs in shower make getting temp right a little challenging until you figure out which is hot and which is cold.

This is the second time we have used Views on Venice and again they did not disappoint! The team is incredible! So helpful from the moment we booked… our flight was cancelled on the day but they rearranged the water taxi, arranged a late checkin and took all stress away from us - honestly Annalisa and Marta I can’t thank you enough! But little things like buying us some milk and breakfast were so thoughtful especially when we arrived almost 8 hours later than expected. The apartment is wonderful, really large, good aircon and for us we found the beds to be actually really comfortable (not something I often say in Italy!) it’s also in the most perfect position, just near lots of lovely cafes, there is a little shop right by the apartment and a larger one slightly further away. The Vaporetto stop is again only a couple of minutes walk away…. But despite being in such a great place it was very very quiet and peaceful. In short would highly recommend!

1. We could not find a way to put the light on before descending the very steep stairs from the apartment. It was OK going up, but not coming down. 2. It would be useful to have a small shelf in the shower to place soap and shampoo instead of using the floor, which could be very slippery and might be safer with a suction shower mat 3. Being British we missed a teapot to brew tea, but we managed. 4. A few hooks by the door would be useful to hang outdoor coats instead of using the backs of chairs.

We all liked the quiet, convenient location, close to a vaporetto stop. There is an excellent grocery store at the top of the street and the admirable Bacareto restaurant is just round the corner. Comfortable beds.

Some hanging facilities in the smaller bedroom would help. Also, there is nowhere in the shower room to put the soap/shampoo when you're showering - a racka dish needs installing, as in normal household/hotel bathrooms.

We had a fantastic visit to visit, largely due to Views on Venice! Thank you for everything that you did to make our visit to Venice as wonderful as we had hoped. My only very small suggestion would have been to have stronger water pressure in the shower. Some of my family did not find the beds comfortable but I thought there were great. I appreciated Irene meeting us to orient us to the area and the apartment, and the gal who ensured that we were all set with our water taxi on the day of our departure. Thank you again for everything. I will give you an excellent rating on Trip Advisor! Best regards,

An ancient canal-side palace within minutes of St. Mark’s Square. Hidden away on its landside within the secret courtyard ‘Corte Rubbi’, on the Castello/San Marco border, this once forgotten building has been magically transformed by restorers with vision and interior design savoir-faire. Standing at the gondola-busy T-junction of the San Zulian and Bareteri canals, and encapsulating 10 dazzling apartments of varying colourway and size, the newly launched Corte Rubbi is but a stroll to some of Venice’s most iconic attractions and countless beguiling vistas on which to feast your eyes! Easy to find (when you know the way!) from the shop-lined Campo San Bartolomeo and Salizada San Lio on one of Venice’s canal-encircled ‘islands within an island’, these imaginatively furnished apartments offer Wi-Fi and a communal laundry room and are spread across 4 floors with all upper floors reached by stairs. Highly contemporary in style, air-conditioned** throughout and ranging from a charming studio for 4 to a fabulous penthouse with rooftop terrace, Corte Rubbi’s 10 apartments sleep up to 42 guests if booked exclusively and include: Corte Rubbi 5 – on the 2nd Floor reached by stairs – sleeping 2+1 A beautifully attired bijou studio enjoying canal views from its 2 windows to the fore and comprising: A charming main living / dining / sleeping area in fashionably clashing shades of flamingo pink and scarlet with Venetian terrazzo flooring, wooden beamed ceiling, a double bed with twin bunk beds to the rear, a well-equipped kitchenette for light cooking, and a dining area seating 4 A luxurious bathroom to the side with marble walls and chromotherapy shower Are you part of a larger group who’d like to stay close together but in separate apartments? We offer 9 other apartments within this palazzo: Corte Rubbi 1, Corte Rubbi 3, Corte Rubbi 6, Corte Rubbi 8, Corte Rubbi 9, Corte Rubbi 10, Corte Rubbi 11 and Corte Rubbi 5514 OUR COMMENT A bijou studio for 4 bursting with colour and joie de vivre, in a vibrant, central and endlessly fascinating part of town.
