Description
Three newly revamped apartments in a pretty, salmon-pink, antique palazzetto within the calm and cultured setting of upmarket San Samuele.
Elegantly attired in a classic, homely style and peacefully positioned within a genteel neighbourhood dotted with galleries and antique shops well clear of the hustle and bustle yet close to Campo Santo Stefano, these inviting apartments are of differing sizes and sleep up to 10 guests when taken together.
Just a few steps from the renowned Palazzo Grassi Museum of Modern Art in a parish that legendary lover Casanova called home, the palazzetto offers a stylish address to rest easy within a short and pleasant stroll of the many attractions of St. Mark’s Square.
Moments from the illustrious Palazzo Mocenigo on the Grand Canal (the one time Venetian bolthole of ‘mad, bad and dangerous to know’ British romantic poet and literary figure, Lord Byron) and boasting air-conditioning, Wi-Fi and a warm and welcoming ambience in each, the Ca’ Grassi apartments comprise:
Ca’ Grassi 3 (Sleeps 3 on the 3rd (top) Floor reached by stairs – no lift)
Communal palazzetto entrance with stairs rising up to the apartment entrance
• The apartment’s internal hallway and short stairway leading directly up to the stylish, high-vaulted, loft-style main sitting/dining room/kitchenette – a characterful space dressed in sun-bleached eau de nil and parched papyrus colours featuring a large L-shaped sofa, bespoke shelving and cabinetry inset with wall-mounted TV plus several windows overlooking the ‘Salizada’
• A dining area seating 4 to the centre of the room, plus a simple and well-equipped kitchenette to the rear
• A darling ‘altana’ roof terrace just off the main room – southwest-facing, furnished and an ideal spot for taking breakfast, or unwinding in the sunshine after a busy - or not so busy! - time around town
• A charming double bedroom to the rear, featuring a low and heavily beamed ceiling and a double bed (positioned fairly low to the floor due to the ceiling height)
• A refreshed bathroom with bathtub and shower over, set between the main room and bedroom
* Are you part of a larger group who’d like to stay close to each other but in separate apartments? We offer 2 other apartments in this Venetian palazzetto (little palace): Ca’ Grassi 1 (on the 2nd Floor) and Ca’ Grassi 2 (also on the 2nd Floor)
OUR COMMENT
A property to delight in all its wood and linen loveliness...! Much loved by previous guests and now refurbished to offer comfortable and peaceful accommodation in a great spot… and with an ‘altana’ rooftop terrace too!
Situated right beside ‘Casa Veronese’ (once the home of the 16th Century Italian Renaissance painter, Paolo Veronese) and within steps of the neighbourhood grocery store/delicatessen, a wine shop, a range of cafes/osterie (including those fringing the nearby Campo Santo Stefano), plus the gallery of interior designer Chiarastella Cattana - a discreetly sophisticated showroom of fine and distinctively woven textiles and furnishings – and, for scent-lovers, the Venice outlet of the famous Florentine ‘Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella’ (one of the oldest pharmacies in the world and one time fragrance maker to Catherine de’ Medici).
A stone’s throw to the Accademia Bridge crossing the Grand Canal over to Dorsoduro and conveniently close the vaporetto (water bus) stops at San Samuele and Sant' Angelo for easy travel around the city, and to the ‘traghetto’ gondola ferry which, during operating times, carries passengers across the Grand Canal between Calle Del Tragheto (near Sant’ Angelo) and San Toma in the district of San Polo
For arrivals between 8.00 p.m. and midnight there is an additional cost for "late arrival" of Euro 50, to be paid in cash upon arrival. We organize arrivals between midnight and one o'clock with an additional cost of Euro 100, after this time we reserve the right to accept the customer always with a supplement to be quantified according to the time of arrival.
Beds will be arranged as either doubles or twins as shown in the photos. The possibility of turning a double bed into twins or vice versa can be found in the description and must be requested at least 7 days before arrival.

Perhaps rejuvenate sofa cushions as not very comfortable and slide off when sitting.
Electrical outlets in bedroom hard to reach because of sloped roof.

Liked the spacious apartment with walking distance to the main parts of Venice. This apartment will always be a special memory for us as I proposed to my partner on the terrace.

Communication regarding our arrival at the Stazione Santa Lucia in Venezia and how to get to our apartment was excellent. The Venice Water Taxi was there to meet us and transport us. The young woman who met us at the San Samuele stop was wonderful. She showed us around the apartment, gave us a great map and marked restaurants, food stores, a bakery, etc. for us. She then took us on a quick tour of the immediate neighborhood and to a food store so we could get some supplies. She also arranged for our transport to the airport at the end of our stay. Our apartment was in an ideal location for us and we were very happy with our stay there! Thank you very much.

This was our 5th trip to Venice and every time, we stay someplace different. I can honestly say we will never stay someplace different again! This apartment is our new home in Venice! The location is fantastic! It is in a very nice, quiet neighbourhood that is close to San Marco, the Academia Bridge and shops, restaurants and grocery stores. The apartment itself is beautifully redone! There is 1 large set of stairs to get to the apartment and then another set once you get inside with no lift so be prepared to carry luggage up the stairs. Inside, the apartment is full of natural light and is very comfortable and charming. The tiny but incredibly well stocked kitchen is not only darling but you could actually cook full meals there if you wanted. The living room area is comfortable and was fine for our teenagers to sleep on the hide a bed. The large bathroom has a soaker tub and we enjoyed the bubble bath that they left for us. The bedroom is beyond charming with all of the beams! The bed was comfortable. Our favourite part of the apartment was the roof terrace! That is where we lived when we were at the apartment! There is something so unique about being on a roof terrace in Venice where the only sound you hear is the birds and the rare occasional tourist from below. We are already looking forward to visit number 6 to Venice and we will definitely be staying at this apartment:)

We really love Views on Venice and have been lucky enough to use them three times now. The service is exceptional and when our original booking this time needed to change, a stress-free solution was found. Ca' Grassi 3, is a charming apartment, as beautiful and light-filled in real life as it is in the photos. We loved the terrace looking over the rooftops and church towers. The apartment is close to the Accademia Bridge, yet in a quiet area for sleeping. There are restaurants, a wine bar, galleries, etc, just around the corner, including a terrific deli we visited daily for milk, cheese and homemade pesto. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back. Many thanks for a wonderful Venice experience!

The Ca Grassi 3 apartment was in the perfect location. Just a couple of minutes from Accademia bridge, yet a little in from the crowded areas, so it was quiet. The assistance from the staff in Venice was excellent. They were able to arrange a water taxi from the airport, and met us at theoff in Venice to take us to the apartment. A good range of amenities (groceries, wine shop) where in the neighbourhood. In particular, we enjoyed the local wine bar (Bacari di Fiore) many times. You do have to go up quite a few stairs to get to the apartment, so it is not ideal for those who have physical mobility issues. Also, we enjoyed a great view of the Regatta Storica on the Grand Canal, a minute walk from the apartment.

Merci Viewsonvenice!

Ca’ Del Monastero 7
Introducing the very special Ca’ Del Monastero - a fine antique residence comprising 8 superbly restored apartments of varying size (including Ca’ Del Monastero 7 - see its dedicated section below) situated in what was once the monastery connected to the ancient Church of San Zan Degolà (one of the oldest in Venice), moments from the Grand Canal in the district of Santa Croce.
Enjoying an atmosphere of calm serenity in what must surely be one of Venice’s most evocative and unspoilt neighbourhoods - indeed a step back in time - the Ca’ Del Monastero apartments offer spacious and beautifully presented accommodation for small and medium size parties or up to 34 guests if taken together.*
No expense has been spared in its recent remodelling
Carefully co-ordinated contemporary furnishings and soft neutral colours meld seamlessly against a traditional backdrop of polished red marble and/or traditional Venetian terrazzo flooring, while stylish high-spec fittings and attractive finishes, such as textured resin walls and luxurious feature wall coverings, give a fresh and fashionable twist to the building’s ancient framework.
Enhanced by a range of up-to-date facilities as demanded by today’s savvy traveller (including air-conditioning**, Wi-Fi internet connection and communal utility facilities), the Ca’ Del Monastero apartments are perfectly placed for communing with the true and heart and soul of the city and for visiting all that Venice has to offer while providing all the comforts of modern city living.
Ca’ Del Monastero 7
Rest easy beneath the rafters of this wooden beamed beauty, with your very own ‘altana’ roof terrace perched up on high.
Situated on the 3rd floor at the top of the residence and reached by lift to the 2nd floor and then taking one flight of stairs, this new ‘sleeps 2’ apartment comprises a hugely characterful main room dominated by a spectacular sloping beamed ceiling** and incorporating all the main living/sleeping areas of the apartment in one!
At the heart of the apartment lies a comfy main sitting/TV area, while to the side sits a modern and well-equipped kitchen with all mod cons and a dining area seating 4 lit by adjacent side/roof lights.
To the rear sits Ca’ Monastero 7’s up-to-date bathroom with bathtub and separate shower cubicle and, cleverly concealed behind semi-open*** dividing walls to the centre/rear of the apartment, the elegant master bedroom with double bed, wall sconces and luxury finishes, plus a doorway opening onto stairs leading to the ‘altana’ rooftop terrace - a splendid outside space with contemporary style furniture offering fabulous bird’s-eye views towards the dome and bell tower of San Geremia, the turret of the Fondaco Dei Turchi (Venice’s Natural History Museum), and the campanile of San Zan Degolà much closer to home.
* Are you a part of a larger group who’d like to stay close together but in separate apartments? We offer seven other apartments within this residence: Ca’ Del Monastero 1, Ca’ Del Monastero 2, Ca’ Del Monastero 3, Ca’ Del Monastero 4, Ca’ Del Monastero 5, Ca’ Del Monastero 6, Ca’ Del Monastero 8.
** Please consult the photo gallery carefully for an idea of the restricted headspace in certain areas of the apartment.

Style, creature comforts and history combined, in an area brimming with local flavour.
Within easy walking distance of Venice’s Santa Lucia Railway Station and Piazzale Roma if travelling light, and even closer to the vaporetto (waterbus) stops at Riva di Biasio and San Stae on the Grand Canal for hassle-free travel around the city.
And so much to see and do right on your doorstep…
Moments to Campo San Giacomo Dell’ Orio - one of Venice’s most charming ‘away from the crowds’ tree-filled squares and home to a well-stocked Coop supermarket and nearby local shops - and a short walk to a Conad supermarket on the Rio Marin canal.
Close to a great variety of cafes, bars and eateries including All’ Anfora, La Zucca, Il Refolo, Al Prosecco and Antica Besseta to name but a few, and within minutes of the Ca’ Pesaro International Gallery of Modern Art, Palazzo Mocenigo at San Stae (Museum of the History of Fabrics, Costumes and Perfumes) and the Fondazione Prada at Ca’ Corner Della Regina.
A leisurely stroll to the 14th Century Franciscan Church of the Frari, (home to Canova's extraordinary triangular marble tomb and Titian's legendary masterpiece, the 'Assumption'), the Scuola Grande di San Rocco with its amazing Tintoretto’s, the vast palazzo-lined Campo San Polo plus the culinary delights and buzz of the Rialto

A fabulous apartment offering one of the most spectacular panoramic views in the whole of Venice.
Located on the peaceful and laid-back island of Giudecca (where Sir Elton John also has a home!) and directly across the Giudecca Canal from the Dorsoduro district, this chic and sunny property is on the third and top floor and combines comfort and style with an enviable position right next to Palladio’s Church of the Redentore.
It has a tastefully decorated living room and dining area with full length windows opening directly onto the terrace (which itself runs the entire length of the apartment and is furnished for dining ‘al fresco’), one double bedroom, a fully fitted kitchen and a bathroom with bathtub and shower.
A staircase leads to the extraordinary wooden ‘altana’ (roof terrace) which, along with the downstairs terrace, offers uninterrupted bird’s-eye views over the Giudecca Canal towards St. Mark’s, Dorsoduro and the domes of Santa Maria Della Salute - perfect for sunbathing, relaxing with a glass and a book or simply taking in the panorama as the boats sail by.
And while you’d be forgiven for wanting to spend the whole of your holiday in a state of complete relaxation at the apartment, it’s great to know that you’re only three minutes by boat to Dorsoduro and five to St.Mark’s for sampling the very best in culture and ‘retail therapy’ that Venice has to offer – indeed the best of both worlds!
Once well-known for its palazzi with gardens and now for its authentic and true ‘Venetian’ feel, Giudecca boasts a number of restaurants ranging from the beautiful canopied terrace of ‘Harry’s Dolci’ and the sophisticated restaurants of the Hotel Cipriani, to those offering simpler and more modest dining and prices to match. Or if you’d prefer to opt for a romantic dinner ‘at home’ under the stars, then stock up on groceries at one of Giudecca’s small stores, the local COOP supermarket (just a short stroll away near the vaporetto stop at ‘Palanca’) or the Prix near the Redentore even closer to home.
